Review 2 - A to Z

Image
Boynton , Sandra . A to Z . Little Simon , 1984 . 3 months to 2 years. Written by prolific American cartoonist and children's author Sandra Boynton , young readers learn their ABCs through animal alliterations, further helping to develop young readers' vocabulary; for example, "Hippos Hiding, Penguins Painting, and Salamanders Sining" readers are immersed with cute animals doing silly things. Pages follow subject-verb structure with simple language making it accessible to very young readers and great practice as they begin speaking. The animal illustrations draw readers in with their silliness and colorful text. The predictability and repetition of sounds make this a great introduction to the alphabet and the English language structure for babies and toddlers.
